Over the years I have found that the people who content themselves with the basics in life are few. Another jolly friend who on occasions infuriated me with his incessant good humour would reprimand me by saying, ‘don’t moan about your lot, if you can do something about it get out there and sort it out, if you can’t, it won’t make a jot of difference moaning about it’.
